Moved from Harpalus rubripes.

???
I have already mentioned some doubt about this one with a recent picture of rubripes.
Darkened femora are a common feature in affinis, but not rubripes. This may be a melanistic affinis? In magnification, it seems as if I can see some fine hairs on the lateral two intervals, which would fix to affinis.

Harpalus rubripes
[exclamation of great disgust] I really meant Harpalus rubripes, not rufipes, which does also occur here, but is a bit larger and does not have a greenish cast.

rubripes and rufipes
they sound alike to me:-)

Harpalus rufipes
A very nice picture of Harpalus rufipes.

Thanks Don
for the id to species. :-)

Nice shots
What are you using for your white background?

Real high tech :-)
I'm just using a plain white paper plate.
