unknown Sphinx Moth (possibly Gaudy Sphinx?) - Pachylia ficus
Royal Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
March 12, 2006
Size: ~3 in body length
We found this newly metamorphosed moth drying/expanding its wings on the underside of a cabbage palm in a city park. We couldn't get a photo of the dorsal surface of the wings as they were still too soft and we didn't want to damage the moth.

There was a distinct greenish cast to the upper surface of the wings.

Moved
Moved from Sphinx Moths.

Pachylia ficus (7841)
