Identification
This genus is distinctive in the North American hyperaspine fauna because the legs are compressed and the hind femur is extremely robust.
Also, the apex of each tibia is thickened and excavated,

very limited number of records for both spp.

a female spmn in the USNM from San Antonio, Texas has an entirely red pronotum and is larger (3.5 mm long) than normal for
H. nubilans. There is a good possibility that the specimen represents an undescribed species, but a male is needed to ascertain this.
