Wolf Spider? - Hogna carolinensis

Wolf Spider? - Hogna carolinensis
Altar Valley, Picture Rocks, Pima County, Arizona, USA
September 27, 2010
Size: 1.5 inches
This spider lives in a hole in the ground near my fire. I see it most every night. It seems to be eating small ants. Is it a male or female?

Moved
Moved from Wolf Spiders.
Tentative placement without a ventral.

Wolf Spider? yes
I think yours is female. The palps don't look enlarged, from what I can see at any rate.

Wolf Spider
If it is around a lot maybe you could catch it and get a photo of the 'belly'. It could help with ID.

This
looks very much like my H. carolinensis specimens from New Mexico.
