...or Small Mocis?
With it's bold subreniform spot, gray-brown tones, and distinct AM line, I would have thought this moth was a typical Small Mocis, M. latipes. It is my understanding that the ground color is typically more yellowish in Yellow Mocis, the AM line (at least) is faint, and there typically is little or no indication of a subreniform spot. What a confusing group!

You may be correct. The main things I looked at when moving it were the PM line and the darkened angle midway along the inner margin. They didn't seems quite right for latipes - plus it doesn't seem to have the dark patch at the center of the outer margin - so I decided on a well marked disseverans. But you may very well be correct. The species in this group have enough variability to make it a bit of a challenge.

"What a confusing group!" Boy, was that a mouthful. I've actually had some moved from one species to another, then had some I had posted there, moved to the other. Thanks for that good morning laugh.
