unk. bee - Lasioglossum sisymbrii - Female
Organ Mountains, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
March 26, 2006
Unknown bee, found on Rhus trilobata, at Aguirre Springs.

Moved
Moved from Cellophane bees.

Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) sisymbrii (Cockerell, 1895)
female; note basal hair bands including T1 (latter a species character)

Colletes.
This is a female Colletes sp., little doubt. With all due respect to Adalbert, his identifications are sometimes dubious (as mine often are). For truly reliable bee identification, I trust Doug Yanega at UC Riverside (he sometimes visits Bugguide, too).

Thanks!
Thanks, Eric! I've read a couple of Yanega's papers & cited one in a recent paper of mine for a class. Seems like he does cool work.

Adalbert might know.
He's our Colorado bee expert. He has submitted a great many images that have yet to be processed in case you'd like to have a look.

his IDs are very frequently wrong
I hate to say this but it is true
