Narrow-winged Tree Cricket couple - Oecanthus niveus - male - female

Narrow-winged Tree Cricket couple - Oecanthus niveus - Male Female
Atco, Camden County, New Jersey, USA
October 7, 2010
They were mating on underside of Wild Grape leaf and separated when I approached...

Awesome capture
You got all the good field marks, and it looks like they are about to spoon too.

WOW....what a great photo.
Really gives a nice comparison of the way the female's wings hug the side of her abdomen; while the male has paddle-shaped wings that lay atop his abdomen. You can also see the black tip of the female's ovipositor.

AND you can see the 'J' black antennal markings.

Thanks!
I was lucky to find them ;)
