Anisodactylus nivalis G.H. Horn 1880

Bousquet & Larochelle (1993: 14) and Bousquet (2012: 1033) established that Anisodactylus (Anadaptus) alternans (Motschulsky, 1845) is the synonym senior to Anisodactylus alternans LeConte, 1851; Anisodactylus nivalis G.H. Horn, 1880; Anisodactylus parvulus (Casey, 1914). The revision of subgenus Anadaptus by Noonan (2001) unfortunately missed Motschulsky's seniority. Otherwise, Noonan's 2001 key corrects the misplacement of A. alternans in Lindroth's 1968 key. Two colored morphs are sympatric: the bicolored morph and the less common dark morph.
