Size: 13 mm
Found basking on the side of a vehicle on a cool morning. Body length, not counting the ovipositor, 13 mm. Thanks to Bob Carlson, who identified this to subfamily--and further!

But I am presently clueless except to say that the shape of the petiole and the ovipositor sheath appear to indicate that the subfamily is not Cryptinae. Evidently, you had the specimen, so I am hoping you didn't discard it.
