This is the bloom of one of a the host plants of the subject species with a male on it (the first observed). It has only been identified as being in the Apiaceae family. If you can identify it to genus or species, please comment.

My wife inadvertently photographed this male on 11JUL2010 (she was going for the flower and bee). It alerted me to look for them.
