Small Syrphidae - Allograpta obliqua

Small Syrphidae - Allograpta obliqua
Hitchcock Nature Area, Honey Creek, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, USA
September 26, 2010
Size: ~ 7 mm

Moved from obliqua or exotica.

Markings on tergite 2 are consistent with obliqua; see:

Allograpta obliqua
Proportionally longer and thinner than T. marginatus, but coloration can be quite close. Note oblique markings near end of abdomen, which point to species.

Thanks, Ron!
