The only one of the two known from New Mexico. We should be able to be reasonably confident in the species ID based on the host + locality.

According to the 1979 catalog of Hymenoptera, two species of
Cotesia
have been reared from
Automeris io:
electrae
and
hemileucae
.
Cotesia electrae
is a western species, although
hemileucae
was recorded from Oregon as well as from states in the eastern USA.
