Zale lunata

Zale lunata
Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA
October 27, 2010
Size: 2.25 in. wingspan
Thanks, Shotgun, I think you are right.
Good-sized moth attracted to porch light.
The Zales are new to me. I thought it was a Geometrid, not a Noctuid.
The parallel lines across the underwings perpendicular to the abdomen are interesting, and they don't follow the marginal lines.
Thanks for your help. Couldn't see antennae. Maybe female.
