This spider was about 4' up in a Coast Redwood branch, out in the open as it was dark when we found it about 7:00 p.m.

You can if you'd like
If you would rather be 100% sure then you can leave it at genus level. Personally, based on the number of species and the ranges & info provided in the reference on the info page I would move it to gertschi.
