Southern Black Widow Spider? - Latrodectus mactans - female

Southern Black Widow Spider? - Latrodectus mactans - Female
Tavares, Lake County, Florida, USA
April 6, 2006
I believe this to be the Southern Black Widow spider.
But upon looking on-line I read that the egg sack of the southern is round and grey,
while the egg sack of the Northern Black Widow is pear shaped and tan.
So now I am confused.
Also, I found this amid the blades of grass in an open field. I almost stepped right on it!

Southern
widow is right.

yes,
northern widow isn't in you range too
