Unknown insect found on invasive kudzu vine
Nyack, NY, Rockland County, New York, USA
November 12, 2010
Size: larva = < 1mm
From my keys, this looked sort of like a snow scale, but because kudzu is invasive its difficult to search by plant host.

The scales on the bark are ar
The scales on the bark are armored scales, Diaspididae, mostly the male pupal scale covers in this photograph. I have a memory of once identifying Pseudaulacaspis pentagona from kudzu.
