Luminescent/iridescent small spider. - Leucauge venusta - female

Luminescent/iridescent small spider. - Leucauge venusta - Female
Chamblee, DeKalb County, Georgia, USA
November 23, 2010
Size: 2mm +
I brought another specimen inside to obtain a good image of the dorsum, to no avail as the animal made no bones about moving for cover. Finally caught the animal in decent focus with this shot.

I suspect the orange glow is an attractant - I know it attracted me. And I wonder what the insect or other spider sees in different kind of light detection systems.
