Okeechobee County, Florida, USA

This spider was photographed at dawn (hence, the dew). It was in a round web in the tall grass on the edge of a pond. It was about the size of a fingernail, if I remember correctly.

The habitat. I found this spider in it's web built between two or three long strands of prairie grass on the bank of the pond in my back yard. The pond water levels were low, so I could walk down the bank and turn around to take the photos. The web was built perhaps 8 inches higher than the ground above the pond. The surrounding area is a cattle ranch on 1433 acres of pristine Florida prairie land. The Kissimmee River is a couple miles to the northwest.

Hi Donn
Do you have more shots of this spider? I'd like to see a full dorsal and a ventral. Also if you can post a close-up of the scape that would be great too. Also, do you remember what the habitat was?

I guess that is what it is.
Thanks much!
