Orb Weaver? 2 - Zygiella x-notata

Orb Weaver? 2 - Zygiella x-notata
Bonny Doon, Pine Ridge area, Santa Cruz County, California, USA
September 2, 2010
Size: 5/8" approx body
found on 2nd fl deck in Chaparral coniferous forest. Where it was found faces the rising sun, shade after about 11 AM.
There was also an outdoor cellar spider in this area, I get 10 lined June beetles her from June though August.
The photo was taken at 9:34 PM, so after sunset.
I don't have any other views of this spider, and this is the only year I've seen it here (I house sit in the summer at this location)

Moved from Orb Weavers. Sorry I didn't see you had updated the information until Eric moved the image.

Because this spider was found on a building it is more likely Z. x-notata than the other look-alikes.

Our first thought is Zygiella
But there are a couple look-alikes, such as Parazygiella. We don't see these here in the Midwest, so don't have a good handle on them. Lynette may be more helpful

tough one
Please add all additional information.. size, where exactly it was found and a vental image if you have one.
