Staphylinid - Coproporus

Staphylinid - Coproporus
Elkland, Dallas County, Missouri, USA
July 9, 2010
Size: 1.8 mm
Lurking among some Phalacrids I was putting away . . . I think this may be Coproporus ventriculus (comparing it to Tim Moyer's photo on BG). I caught it at florescent lights at my pond this summer. Trying to brush off the lep scales, I broke an antenna - darn. Tim's photo had lep scales, too, so I feel a bit better . . . .

Thanks Blaine! I think it fits Coproporus . . . but I've been way off so often.
