Identification
1. Perithous (Perithous) divinator: ovipositor shorter (1.0x fore wing length), mesoscutum ferruginous with black lateral margins, hind tibia of female ferruginous tinged with brown, hind tarsi ferruginous, north and east from Wisconsin
2a. Perithous (Perithous) scurra neomexicanus: ovipositor length longer (1.6x fore wing length), mesoscutum usually ferruginous with black margins, hind tibia of female brownish, west of the Rocky Mountains
2b. Perithous (Perithous) scurra pleuralis: ovipositor length longer (1.6x fore wing length), mesoscutum ferruginous to fuscoferruginous, hind tibia of female whitish to straw-colored, east of the Rocky Mountains
3. Perithous (Hybomischos) septemcinctorius: ovipositor length longer (nearly twice forewing length), mesoscutum ferruginous, hind tibia of female orange, hind tarsi white with black distal margins, Michigan (adventive)(2)
