Water Striders - Aquarius - male - female

Water Striders - Aquarius - Male Female
Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina, USA
April 13, 2006
Size: 5/8"
Any ideas?

Moved
Moved from Aquarius.

This is either Aquarius conformis or A. nebularis, both very similar and best separated with males. I've seen plenty of A. conformis in this county, but photo isn't clear enough to separate based on connexival spine length

Moved
Moved from Gerris.

Gerris.
Definitely a species of Gerris. They look sprawling enough to be G. remigis, which has a legspan of roughly two inches or so.
