a slightly higher resolution (or at least higher pixel count) image of this species. This is from a Powershot S5 at full tele (72mm) with a reversed 50mm f1.4 lens. Results in about a 6mm field of view on about a 6mm sensor, so that's "1:1" as they say in some circles.

I believe my previous post of this species was from a Powershot A640 at full tele (29mm) with the same reversed 50mm lens, but with a 2x tele-extender in between. That results in about a 10mm field of view, but there's significant vignetting, so only about 3 or 4 mm are usable.

The usual Helicon stacking of images was employed with both setups, along with CHDK firmware hack scripts for auto stepping the powershot lens in focus.
