Shows what they look like when eating a yellow flower. The Coreopsis lanceolata was definitely their preferred host in my little wildflower meadow patch, but I also saw some on Rudbeckia.

Here it is a week after it was first discovered. After this shot, I cut the flower stem and placed the flower in a cup of water in a rearing container. When the caterpillar had eaten the flower down to a nub, it pupated. Seven days after that, the adult eclosed.
