Orgyia is my suspicion, could be the western tussock

Thanks shotguneddie, western tussock could include O.vetusta and O. cana. I'm thinking western pine tussock, Dasychira grisefacta is a good match and is known from the area. We were thinking alike, I appreciate the input.

 
these tussocks are funny
with those long front legs..
