Habitat?
I'm trying to find these, but have not. What sort of habitat was it in, pond, stream, marsh?

Thanks for any advice--a good find.

Mud along water
Look in really muddy areas around lakes and streams. I just found the habitat in my location yesterday. I collected a good amount but I must go back and get a better photo. I was really excited when I found them:-) They're surprisingly small when you first see them. They're not really fast so it's not too hard to get a good photo either.

Good picture Chris! I need to go back and get a good shot for myself:-)

Habitat
Here's a shot of the habitat:
The Elaphrus I found were actually quite fast, like a small tiger beetle except they do not readily fly.
