 Symphylan + Eggs

Symphylan + Eggs
Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA
December 26, 2010

Moved
Moved from Symphylans.

Nice!
Just stumbled on this photo... Can you give an approximate size estimate?

Sure, I can try
The Symphylans I encounter in that area are generally about 6 mm long. So perhaps the eggs are .75 mm wide? Pure estimate!

Do we know if those eggs belong to this creature
or do they just happen to be in the same place at the same time?

Yes
I'm certain that they are the symphylan's. It hovered around them, guarding them for the 20 minutes I was there. And yeah, pretty interesting eggs!

Great shot
the eggs remind me of tiny brown widow eggs.

fantastic!
how does she manage to fit those inside her body???

Amazing!
I never thought I'd see eggs of this creature. Thanks for posting.
