Is this a lance fly?

I think only Norrbomia has a wing pattern like this, but I'm not sure.

Moved from Lesser Dung Flies.

Thanks for your help. Judging
Thanks for your help. Judging from the other photos of Norrbomia I would say you're definitely on the right track. Those red eyes on this fly make me wonder if it's not some other genus of Copromyzinae.

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Sphaeroceridae
Subfamily probably Copromyzinae...

Moved from ID Request.

You'll improve your chances for an ID
if you crop your pic as close to the subject as possible. Only you and the editors can see the full-sized version. Everyone else is left looking at a little fly in a big background. :)

You can replace the current photo by clicking on "edit" and uploading a cropped image if it's available.

Thank you for your feedback,
Thank you for your feedback, Ken. I cropped the image and it turned out to be a little blurry. I think it still might be usable. What do you think? Clear enough or too blurry?

We've seen worse :)
Seriously, our fly experts are pretty good. Let's see what they can do with it.

Thanks ; )
