Cornulactica varicornis (Jacoby)

Numbers
1 sp. n. of Mex.

Food
genus not reported in Clark et al. (2004) (2), but USDA (1985) reports an intercept of this species from Mexico on Musa sp. (Musaceae), a genus that includes bananas and plantains.
Cornulactica is related to “Monomacra s. lato” that will use Passiflora spp. and some on Bumelia, but those seem unlikely [hosts] to me. (E.G. Riley, pers. comm. to MAQ, 2020)
Life Cycle
comes to UV lights (BG data)(1)
Remarks
Apparently introduced into s. Louisiana ca. 2019 and recently (2022) spread to the Upper Coast of Texas and to s. Mississippi. (BG data)(1)
