Looks like an Orb Weaver
in the genus Metepeira. Will check deeper. Was this a young one? The legs should be much longer.

According to the most recent Canada checklist (May, 2010), M. palustris is the only species in NB.

Thank so much for this id. I don't know if the specimen was a young one, photo was taken on June 20, and I don't keep the specimen for spiders.
You mention the Canada checklist for spider... does this list exist on the net? if not, could you tell me where I could find this information..
