Fall Fund Drive

Agua Caliente County Park, San Diego County, California, USA
April 22, 2009
Size: BL~7
This blow fly was on the moist creek bed at Agua Caliente. The color is rather bronzy, rather than bright green of the Green Bottle Fly, Lucilia sericata. Any help with its identification is most appreciated.

Moved from ID Request.

Color variation
The color of green Lucilia often comes with bronze. Species have different average colors with a lot of overlap.

Bronzy Callophorid
It's interesting that there is color overlap. This fly also seems very bristly, more so than the larger bluer blow fly I just posted, #485345. I don't know how genera or species are differentiated.
