Unfortunately I don't think I have any other shots of this guy. I was just grabbing a few shots around the porch light as I was heading out of the house.

please keep an eye out for this mystery carabid; reminds me of Ophonus and some smaller harpalines

 
Ophonus
looks like Ophonus puncticeps to me; first thought was Amphasia interstitialis, but pronotum isn't as punctate as this one, nor is it shaped quite right.

size
I found the sheet that the insect was photographed on and used that as a rough guide for determining the size of the bug. My guess is that it is 7-8mm long (not including antennae and legs).
