Madera canyon caterpillar on native plant - Agrius cingulata

Madera canyon caterpillar on native plant - Agrius cingulata
Pima County, Arizona, USA
September 26, 2010
Size: 2 inches
I found this large caterpillar feeding on the grass (sorry I don't know the name of the plant either). Habitat is grassland in oak forest with an elevation of 5000 ft. I tried the caterpillar identifier at discoverlife.org without any luck. Thanks very much for ID.

The lep experts will tell you if I'm anywhere close. :)
