Eustrophopsis sp. - Eustrophus tomentosus

Eustrophopsis sp. - Eustrophus tomentosus
Prospect, below El Dorado Lake Dam, Butler County, Kansas, USA
May 25, 2010
Size: 4.7mm
Light trap near small stream below El Dorado Lake Dam. I'm guessing the species name
bicolor comes from the two tones of brown that change in relation to the way light
reflects of the vestiture. Nice looking beetle. Initial data entry for Kansas.

you sure this is not Eustrophus tomentosus?
anyway, doesn't look like Eustrophopsis bicolor to me

E. tomentosus
I'll go with your call V. I don't have a key to get it below genus
and I did not look at or read the comments on Brad Barnd's
, which would have straightened me out quickly.
Thanks again.
