Anyone recognize this Ammophila species?

Looks like we can almost believe we see silver spots
on the sides. Could it also be
?

 
That was my thought, too.
Especially with the additional angle.

Sounds good... But don't the Ammophila species sometimes have pale spots on the thorax too? Maybe just located differently?

 
Some Ammophila have silver stripes...
Not sure about spots, to be honest.

Most Ammophila I've seen have at least a bit of bright red/orange on the abdomen (although I'm sure there are exceptions). I was pretty much going by the Guide, which says that "the blue-black body and silvery/gold patches ... are distinctive" for E. aureonotata.

To be safe, wait to see what the wasp experts have to say (I'm not one of them).

 
Not sure either
I did see some BG images of Ammophila spp. with silvery thoracic stripes. My dial-up is so slow I often rely on Stephen Marshall's big insects book, and he seems to have some images with silvery spots in Ammophila, but it is not easy to see.
