Gyrinus dubius (Wallis)
It was a toss-up between G. dubius and G. picipes. Both species are found in BC. G. dubius has bicolored legs with protibia, hind and mid femora piceous (darkened) but the glare from the photos made it somewhat hard to discern. The overall shape of the aedeagus in the additional photos, however, fits G. dubius more than the other species...thanks for adding them!

Male
Male genitalia usually required to get these to species.

but this is exactly the case where you can see them

In this case
I would need a clear close-up shot of the region to get further (can't see enough detail)...although my money's on Gyrinus picipes (Aube) based on the overall color of the ventral surface and the general shape of the aedeagus. Provision of body size is also helpful for these guys.

Thanks for all your help with these.
Tried blowing up the photo, but don't think it added much - see additional posts. Will remember to measure things this year.
