this is indeed a great photo! I've looked at quite a number of your contributions in the last few minutes since I discovered that clicking on your name will, no fail so far, lead to my User Account page. Programming glitch?

If a user deletes their user page,

then clicking on their name takes you to your user page since Jackie's is gone. If we click on her name we are taken to our user page. Not a glitch, just when happens when you ask to go to a now missing page.

Great series of images

We'll copy them to the info page that Hannah is making for your images. Are your comments valid for all Helophilus or only for fasciatus? Do you know the genus well enough to help with the ID of all the images currently listed on the genus page? If so click here and you'll find more than a page of images that could use your expertise to get them each a species ID.

Qualify

Applies to fasciatus, latifrons and obscurus for sure with yellow on 5th segment. Only these three are listed as flying in Essex County. Drawings I have seen on Helophilus groenlandicus are also 5 segmented for the female. They fly much further north. I have a full description (that was given to me in English, not Entomolese) for fasciatus. Do you want me to post it?

I'm really enjoying your images, Jackie.

You seem to have a fair amount of technical knowledge, and I'm just wondering if you have a professional interest in insects? Maybe you could fill out your bio page a little (click on your name to get to it)?
If you are positive of the species identification of these two, they can be moved to the species level. I'll go ahead and create a page.
