Backswimmer - Notonecta
Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA

Size: ~8 mm
Captured at a nearby brook, photographed and released. This specimen often would surface and dry it's wings before diving back down offering me some nice shots.

Browsing through John Epler's Key to Aquatic Heteroptera of Florida, I suspect this is most likely N. undulata, which he mentions is quite common.
