Latrodectus bishopi - male

Latrodectus bishopi - Male
Martin County, Florida, USA
Adult male bishopi, hesperus, mactans, and possibly variolus do eat, primarily prey captured by the female.
It is feasible that adult males capture small prey that get caught in the webs of females.

This is an example of an adult male capturing it's own prey.
While the female was responsible for snaring the cricket so it could not escape, the male decided to get involved and did the rest of the work after I removed the female.

The male is wrapping the cricket in this image.

Jeff, it's always exciting seeing nature at work.
