Pandorus Sphinx - Eumorpha pandorus

Pandorus Sphinx - Eumorpha pandorus
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
July 15, 2004
I've found this sphinx several times from May through July, 2004, but only twice as fresh individuals with the bright green coloration. It was a cool morning (62 F or so) and only a few moths were about. Perhaps a female--the abdomen looks very plump.

Thanks
Here is a photo of one I found on my back porch yesterday morning after a warm rain (80 degree), in the NW corner of Arkansas. Ozark Mountains. Thanks to you, I now know it's name! Lived in AR most of my 43 years..and only seen this critter a couple of times.
