Nabis sp. -
Nabis flavomarginatus
-
Chibougamau, Nord-du-Québec County, Quebec, Canada
Size: Close to 10 mm
A pretty brachypterous Nabis sp. lady. Beyond the Genus, her identity totally eludes me. If anyone knows who she might be, it would be much appreciated.

Nabis (Nabicula) flavomarginatus Scholtz -det. T.J. Henry
Yann,
i'll get back to you about this -- i'm glad to see that Dr Henry [like Kerzhner in his later papers, e.g.
(

)
] has returned to the broader treatment of
Nabis
;
Nabicula
was treated as a separate genus in
(

)
(

)
(

)
(our most widely used sources).
later! =v=
Moved from
subgenus Dolichonabis

per Kerzhner 1981, pp. 93-94, Nabicula, unlike Nabis...
...have "smooth callosities at the lateral corners of the scutellum (may be tiny and visible only in lateral view, esp. in macropterous individuals). The abdominal dorsum usually with dark & pale vittae, rarely uniformly black or pale. Hemelytra usually very short and do not reach beyond 1/3 of the length of abdomen; if longer of fully developed, then without 3 dark blotches on veins at the corium-membrane border." [translated from Russian]
this is the only sound source i have; it deals with the Palaearctic fauna but has to be generally applicable to the NA fauna as well, i suppose

Thanks for the info. Blatchle
Thanks for the info. Blatchley 1926 is still an excellent guide today, but it lacks some genera, such as this one (some Nabicula species are actually treated as Nabis in it if I'm not mistaken).
