Beetle - Corticeus thoracicus

Beetle - Corticeus thoracicus
Middleburg, Clay County, Florida, USA
February 26, 2011
Size: 2.7mm
Light trap. Bombed out getting this to a family. Should be easy with
those antennae. Think I have looked at toooo many beetles today. If someone
would get me started on a family, I surely would appreciate it.

Corticeus
I'm so embarrassed! I used my color illustrated key to Florida
Teneb's and passed right over this guy, because the color did not
match, without even tooking at the antennae. Found two more today
under pine bark (no other bark beetles though). Using said key,
this works out to C. thoracicus. I have a new lens coming in
next week and will reshoot and replace these photo's. Would there
be a problem with moving this to species guide page in the meantime?

:-)
No such thing as looking at too many beetles.
