It looks like the p. mixtum I found before. Maybe Don can identify the specimen and confirm the species.

John Burger
looked at it, and said Prosimulium but too small to place to species. You did have a second individual in the container, which was a Stegopterna species. No photo of it. For the two species in this area, you must look at chromosomes to separate the species.

Might be Prosimulium
Around here most black fly larvae with antennae translucent at base with only the last segment darkened are Prosimulium. There are exceptions.
