This shot shows the red marks near the tip of the elytra better.
Sorry it's out of focus ... I didn't get any better shots because I was on a 3-mile hike to a wedding, and the bride (in gown and hiking boots) had caught up to me and I didn't feel I could hold up the wedding any more than I already had just to get a couple more beetle photos...
