Eupeodes or Syrphus ? - Eupeodes fumipennis
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
September 24, 2007
Size: ~10mm total length.
I'm cleaning up my syrphid photo files today and posting several older photos which I haven't posted in the past, with the hope that I can get IDs on some of them. Based on Paul's comments at:http://bugguide.net/node/view/9880, I suspect this is a Eupeodes, with "paired spots on the tergites that may merge to form bands", "margined abdomen", and shiny mesonotum.
