Small Big-headed Mayfly - Arthroplea bipunctata

Small Big-headed Mayfly - Arthroplea bipunctata
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 28, 2006
Size: 4.5mm

Arthroplea bipunctata
I didn't notice before that the palps were wrapping around the head. Lloyd thanks for identifying another one.

Arthroplea bipunctata
I'm not sure how this one escaped detection for so long. The "big-headed" appearance is partly caused by the elongated maxillary palpi wrapping around the head. (oo)

Heptageniidae sp.
While it is probably a Maccaffertium (=Stenonema), it is too small to be sure of anything.
