Hydaticus aruspex - female

Hydaticus aruspex - Female
Mundy Park Pond, Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada
August 10, 2010
Size: 14.5 mm
Only the females can be striped like this although it appears a geographical factor is involved- none of my female specimens collected from Alberta exhibit this color pattern.
