Trachymyrmex septentrionalis (Attini)
Eric was right: this is one more genus of the Attini tribe. Warty large tergite of the gaster and the strange, branched spines of the alitrunk are typical for Trachymyrmex. ID to species level was easy, because septentrionalis is the only North-Americn species.

Right tribe. Not Atta, but a related genus. We have Acromyrmex in Arizona, but this is different still:-)
