Clepsis peritana
Moved from ID Request. These are relatively common. I have had them at my lights in Tucson since last month. Yours is the first post for AZ in April though!

I was surprised...
...to see a moth this early in the year. Although we 'have' had some warm spells in Phoenx lately.
What kind of Lights do you have? I feel I need to improve my lighting in order to attract more insects and get better photographs.

Very simple, and cheap
I use a $20 Home Depot 15W flourescent blacklight (UV) and another compact flourescent reading light simply so I can see what I'm doing. Brings in plenty of insects for me. I've tried the compact flourescent blacklight bulbs and they didn't work for me. It all depends on the frequency of light and they apparently don't throw out what the moths like. As for early moths, I see a few moths all year as long as the temps are in the 70's.
