small carabid - Bradycellus tantillus
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 9, 2011
Size: 2.8mm

Moved
Moved from Stenolophina.
Thanks Peter.

Bradycellus tantillus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. Thanks Tom.

Best diagnostic clue for genus Bradycellus is the tiny mentum tooth (hidden beneath head). Pronotum with denticulate hind angles also helps somewhat here.

Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles.
I saved the specimen for Peter, so once I get it out to him, we'll find out which one it is.

One of the Bradycelli
possibly Bradycellus itself...though I can't rule out Acupalpus.
